Honey Silk Powder

Silky Honey Powder can be stored in your favorite container or shaker.  Apply it with a puff to your body, or sprinkle on your bedding, shoes, etc.

1 tablespoon of vanilla powder (the baking type found in the baking section of your market, or a well known mail order source like Williams Sonoma)

1 cup of cornstarch

1 tbsp. raw honey

Mix first two ingredients then add one tablespoon of honey. Work in well. Rub the crumbs between your hands (or process in a food processor) until mixture turns into fine dust particles. Apply to the body with a large feather puff.

Secret for Dry, Allergic or Itchy Skin:

Cut off the foot (about 8 inches) of a pair of worn stockings. Pour one cup of raw oatmeal (not instant) into the opening (where your foot would go) and secure with a rubber band.  Place under warm running water in your bath and soak as desired.  When finished, discard.

  • Almond Milk Bath

Our grandmothers loved milk baths. This soothing milk bath has the enticing aroma of almonds.

    6 cups powdered milk

    4 Tablespoons of Almond Oil

8 drops of pure almond extract

7 drops of pure vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl with a fork, or briefly use a processor.

Shake a few times to combine and add to running bathwater as desired.

This will make two baths worth if you're frugal. Four if you're lavish.

    Old Fashioned Bay Rum cologne
    5 oz. vodka
    1 oz. Jamaican rum
    3 to 4 bay leaves
    1/4 tsp. allspice
    1 stick cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. orange extract
Steep 1 week; filter and bottle.

    Pure Air Spritzer

    1/2 tsp Bergamot Essential Oil
    1/2 tsp Eucalyptus Essential oil
    1/2 tsp Lavender Essential oil
    2oz pure distilled water
2oz vodka (acts as a preservative)

Put the essential oils in a 4 oz spritzer bottle and fill with vodka and water. Shake and use as often as you like. Experiment with the amounts of oils to get the right scent for you.

These three essential oils are said to kill airborne viruses and bacteria.

    Honey Bath Salts

1 1/2 cups of Epsom Salts (or rock sea salt)

1/3 cup of raw honey (liquid honey)

2 drops of food coloring (any color)

3 drops essential oil (optional, honey smells divine, but you may want to add your favorite aroma)

Mix the salts in a bowl with the honey very well. Mixture will seem a little sticky.

Add your food coloring to the essential oil if you choose to use it. Oils that are good would be lavender, rose, patchouli or jasmine. Stir the oil and color mixture into the salts. Rest in covered bowl for about 30 minutes so that the ingredients can marry, then store in a lovely container.

Add 1/4 cup of salts into warm running water for each bath.

Bath Oil: Pure Cosmetic Grade Almond Oil

Add a few drops to your bath under running water. Unlike mineral oil, almond oil quickly penetrates skin, giving it a naturally fresh and soft luster. This delicate oil is also a good ingredient for use in homemade lotions. Cold pressed natural coconut oil is wonderful too.

    Basic Bath Salts Mix

    1 cup Epsom salt
    1 cup salt
    1 cup baking soda

Use a one quart, wide-mouth canning jar or container. Use a large bowl to combine the Epsom salt, salt, and baking soda. Mix well. Pour into jar. You can add fragrance oil to scent the salts if desired.

    Mint Leaf Foot Refresher Spray

    2 tablespoons mint leaves
    4 ounces alcohol
    4 ounces water
    5 drops peppermint essential oil
Combine all of the ingredients into a spray bottle and then shake well. Allow mixture to blend for 12 hours to blend ingredients. Spray on feet for a cooling treat! (Be sure you are not allergic to fresh mint!)
