Lanterns line the private lane that leads to the Bungalow Treehouse. This secluded cottage on the edge of town is close to stores, restaurants and shopping, but nicely hidden in the trees. The owners' plans for this acreage include walking trails and a gazebo by the spring, and two additional treehouses with sunset views.

Back Side of Bungalow
Treehouse Cottages has opened an additional thirty-three acre woodland about a mile from their original location. The Bungalow is the first of three treehouses to be built in this hidden pine forest. 0wner and builder, Terry Miller, loved treehouses when he was a boy. His love of wood and natural elements definitely shows in the handcrafted details he brings to this charming cabin in the trees.
Climb twenty-two stairs to your private cottage in the trees. A fine quality double rocker adds a thoughtful touch to the front porch, suggesting the pleasures that await you inside. Owner and builder, Terry Miller, is a gifted craftsman who used natural wood in this cabin, which sits twenty-two feet off the ground.
When you walk through the front door, you'll be welcomed by soft music from the CD player. I recommend the Bungalow Forest CD with its natural woodland sounds and relaxing piano notes. Store your clothes in the armoire, light a fire log and stretch out on the supple leather loveseat. There'll be time later to discover all the amenitiess that make this cozy cabin so special.
Patsy Miller made the pretty yellow dishes for this small kitchen. You'll find the essentials to prepare breakfast or dinner for that special someone. Fresh flowers on the dining table add an extra personal touch. In the cupboard you'll find a generous assortment of coffee, cocoa and hot tea. The small fridge holds a variety of sodas and a loaf of homemade bread - what a tasty, welcoming touch!
Charming cobblestone fireplace. Fire logs are provided, and you can purchase more at the gift shop at the office.
You will love the lavish, elegant bedding and sheets, but wait until you lie down in this king-size, hand-carved four poster bed. Layered with soft fabrics and textures that will delight and sooth you, it's utterly decadent. To add a touch of magic, the moon and stars peek through the skylight above the bed, and the woodland view goes on forever. Accent lights with dimmers set the mood for an evening of romance.
Sitting in its own bay, surrounded by picture windows that frame the treetops, this romantic tub will invite you to light candles, open the blinds, and linger . . . the water stays nice and warm. Pure pleasure! Patsy made the yellow and blue tiles that enhance this tub. A small basket with soap and bath gel makes you feel thoroughly pampered.
On the back side of the cottage, a wrap-around deck overlooks the wooded hillside. A colorful table and chairs and a large gas grill offer delightful alternatives to indoor dining. Don't forget to fill the birdfeeder.
I took these photos from the picture window, inches away. Clearly, treehouse bungalow birds are used to being spoiled too.
The colors of dusk filter through the tree tops, reflecting off large picture windows. This cozy cabin is full of natural light, which makes it ideal for artists and writers.
